1. Who may keep a lair
You must be at least 13 years old to make an account. If you are
under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. If we learn an
account belongs to someone under 13 we will close it and delete its records.
2. Your account
One Dragon Keeper, one account. You are responsible for what happens under your name
and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you believe
someone else has your key.
3. Conduct
Lairlings is a shared hearth, and other Dragon Keepers are people. Do not harass,
threaten, or demean anyone; do not post slurs, sexual content involving minors,
personal information (yours or anyone's), or links to elsewhere; do not
impersonate other Dragon Keepers or the wardens; do not use the game to advertise.
This applies to everything you write or name — chat, parcel notes, guestbooks,
Dragon Keeper names, dragon names, room names.
4. Fair play
Do not exploit bugs, automate play, scrape the site, or interfere with the
service or other Dragon Keepers' use of it. If you find a bug that could harm the
game or its Dragon Keepers, tell us instead of using it.
5. Your words, our walls
Text you write in the game stays yours, but by writing it here you give us a
worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display and store it as part of running
the game. We may remove any content or name at our discretion.
6. Coin and goods
Silver, gold, furnishings, dragons, and everything else in the game are game records,
not property. They have no cash value, cannot be sold for money, and may be
changed or reset as the game's design requires.
Gold bought at the Treasury is paid for through Stripe and counted into your hoard
once the payment is confirmed. Patron of the Hearth is a monthly subscription that renews
automatically until you end it from the Treasury page; ending it stops future charges and
the month already paid for runs its course. Because the gold and the standing are delivered
at once, payments are not refunded except where the law requires or the game has plainly failed
to deliver what was paid for — write to the wardens if that happens.
7. The wardens
We may mute, suspend, or permanently close accounts that break these terms,
with or without warning, at our judgment. We would rather warn than ban, but
the hearth's safety comes first.
8. Leaving
You may delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion is
permanent: your dragons, lair, and coin are gone, and your name is released.
See the Privacy Policy for
what deletion does to records of you.
9. The service itself
Lairlings is provided as-is, without warranty. We may change, pause, or end
the game or any part of it. We are not liable for lost progress, lost coin,
or a dragon that grew up while you were away — time passing is the point.
10. Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so on the site
before the change takes effect. Continuing to play after that is acceptance.
